Jewellery Care
The Nude Studio's pieces are entirely handcrafted. While we place emphasis to ensure the quality of our jewellery, they should be handled and stored with care to ensure its longevity.
Over time, even with care, coatings or platings may wear off due to natural conditions. As all metals will oxidise, this natural process will cause jewellery to turn dull. To remedy this, please follow the below suggested best practices to maintain the best quality of the jewellery.

Perfume, Hair Products & Lotion
Avoid spraying perfume or hair products directly on the jewellery. Avoid applying moisturiser or sunscreen lotion on skin areas (like wrist and neck) that will come into contact with the jewellery. These chemicals will react with the metals and result in tarnishing. Wear your jewellery after applying perfume or hair products.

Shower & Swim
Remove your jewellery before showering. Avoid swimming with your jewellery as chlorine and sea water (and other contaminants) will react with the metals and result in tarnishing.

Sunlight
Wearing pearls or minerals under daily sunlight exposure are generally safe. Exposure to strong lighting over prolonged periods of time, be it direct sunlight or intense halogen lights, can cause fading. Store your jewellery away from direct sunlight.

Cleaning
After each wear, clean with warm water, a small amount of pH-neutral soap and a 100%-cotton cloth. Do not use polishing cloth or chemicals on your jewellery as they have been chemically treated and/or plated.

Storing
Store your jewellery in a cool and dry place. Store your jewellery in a sealed bag (i.e. zip-lock) after cleaning it. Store jewellery separately and avoid storing with items like keys, coins or other jewellery that may result in scratches.

Metal Care
14K Gold-Filled
Gold-filled metals are created by pressure bonding an actual layer of gold to another metal. It will not tarnish and will not rub off or turn colours. Wearers who are sensitive to certain metals can wear gold-filled jewellery without worrying of an allergic reaction. Gold-filled accessories can be worn even daily without fear of fading or rubbing off for many cases as long as 30 years.
Hot weather and water will not damage the material. Many wearers may find that they never have to clean gold-filled jewellery at all. However, from time to time the jewellery may accumulate dirt from everyday wear. Basic cleaning with water and pH-neutral soap.
Polished 925 Silver
Basic cleaning with water and pH-neutral soap. Surface cleaning may be done with polishing cloth.
Brass
Surfaces are chemically treated. Avoid scrapes and scratches as the patina is applied only to the outer surface of the piece. Clean with warm water, a small amount of pH-neutral soap and a 100%-cotton cloth.
Gold-Plated
Surfaces are gold plated on metal. Avoid perfumes, moisturisers, scrapes and scratches as the plating is applied only to the surface of the piece. Clean with warm water, a small amount of pH-neutral soap and a 100%-cotton cloth.
